Fordham Chapel

Fordham University, Bronx NY
When time came to replace the existing pipe organ from the historic University Chapel (circa 1845) at Fordham, the prospect of installing the new organ within the narrow and skewed confines of the church tower called for careful staging and planning. To insure that all parts and pieces of the new pipe organ would fit properly within the existing interior of the tower, a series of laser scans were done at multiple levels, then processed and aligned to create a full 3D point cloud database that enabled accurate measurement references. Using this data to check the shop drawings provided efficiencies in construction time and helped to avoid possible change orders.
